Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you should know before choosing a Maison Piet piece—from our materials and diamonds to delivery, care, and bespoke commissions.

Materials & Diamonds

Are Maison Piet diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Our laboratory-grown diamonds are diamonds, not cubic zirconia, moissanite, or imitation stones. They share the essential chemical, physical, and optical properties of natural diamonds; the difference is their origin. Learn more in our diamond guide.

Is your jewelry solid gold?

Maison Piet pieces are crafted in solid 14K gold unless a product page expressly states otherwise. The gold alloy continues throughout the piece—we are not selling gold-plated or vermeil jewelry as solid gold.

Why does Maison Piet use 14K gold?

Pure 24K gold is exceptionally soft. Fourteen-karat gold combines meaningful precious-gold content with the strength needed to support delicate prongs, clasps, and diamond settings through regular wear. It is a considered choice for beauty, security, and longevity.

What does IGI certified mean?

An IGI report is an independent gemological record documenting a diamond’s laboratory-grown origin and quality characteristics, including the Four Cs where applicable. When a Maison Piet product is described as IGI certified, its report accompanies or corresponds to that piece. Read our IGI guide.

Does every small diamond receive its own report?

No. Very small accent, pavé, and melee diamonds are typically evaluated and matched as groups rather than individually submitted for separate laboratory reports. Certification is identified clearly on each applicable product page.

Orders & Delivery

How long will my order take?

Standard Vega and Altair pieces are made to order and prepared for insured shipment within approximately two weeks. Modified and bespoke pieces follow separate timelines that are confirmed before production.

Is my shipment insured?

Maison Piet shipments are insured while in transit. Delivery requirements may vary based on order value and destination, so please review the tracking and delivery instructions provided with your order.

What is your return policy?

No. Because every Maison Piet piece is made to order and prepared specifically for the client, all purchases are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund. This does not affect your rights if an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, materially different from what was ordered, or is not delivered. Please review our Shipping & Final Sale policy before purchasing.

Can I change or cancel an order?

Orders may be changed or cancelled only before production begins. Once production has begun, the order cannot be changed or cancelled.

Do you ship internationally?

International availability may depend on destination, insurance, customs, and the individual piece. Please contact us before ordering so we can confirm whether delivery can be arranged.

Bespoke & Care

Can Maison Piet create a custom piece?

We welcome bespoke inquiries and consider each project individually. Maison Piet works with design specialists, skilled manufacturers, and trusted stone sources in the United States and overseas to explore original pieces and thoughtfully reimagined classics. Begin with our Bespoke inquiry form.

Can I request a different gold color, stone size, or length?

Possibly. Available modifications depend on the design, setting, materials, and production stage. Submit a bespoke inquiry or contact us before placing the order so we can evaluate the request.

Are bespoke pieces returnable?

No. Bespoke and materially customized pieces are created specifically for one client and are final sale. Orders may be changed or cancelled only before production begins. This does not affect rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

How should I care for my jewelry?

Store pieces separately, avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals, and remove fine jewelry before swimming or heavy exercise. Clean gently with warm water, mild soap, and a very soft brush. Frequently worn prongs, clasps, and settings should be professionally inspected. See our care guide.

The Atelier

What is the average production time for a bespoke piece?

Most Maison Piet bespoke pieces require approximately eight weeks of production after the final design, materials, pricing, and payment terms have been approved. Because every commission is individually designed, sourced, and manufactured, timing may vary based on stone availability, complexity, revisions, certification, and the specialists involved. We will provide a project-specific estimate before production begins.

Does the Atelier work with natural diamonds and gemstones?

Yes. Although Maison Piet’s core collection celebrates laboratory-grown diamonds, the Atelier can source natural diamonds and precious gemstones for bespoke commissions. We work with trusted stone sources in the United States and overseas, and independently graded or certified stones will be identified as such whenever certification is applicable.

How does the bespoke design process work?

Each commission begins with a private consultation to understand the piece, proportions, materials, budget, and intended timing. We then coordinate design development, sourcing, approvals, and production with the appropriate specialists.

Can Maison Piet source a specific diamond or gemstone?

Yes. Subject to availability and the requirements of the commission, Maison Piet can source specific diamond shapes, sizes, colors, qualities, and select gemstones through trusted suppliers.

When are the final price and timeline confirmed?

Final pricing and the project-specific production estimate are confirmed after the design, materials, stone selection, and scope have been approved and before production begins.
